Society for New Communication Research Announces 2008 Awards Program
Welcome to the new site
It's been said we live in a shrinking world. Modern communication technology makes linking distant locations easier and easier. At the same time for some of us, jobs seem to be collapsing together, too. It's not uncommon to see public relations, advertising, and marketing reside in a single department - or even a single person. That's why the Texas Public Relations Association has created the Communicators' Connexion, TPRA's Web crossroads for all professional communicators.
The appearance of the site hasn't changed much, but we've incorporated some new features that will help you through your day and possibly, through your career. Perhaps most noticeable is the Universal Calendar that brings you information on events scheduled by all the state's professional communications associations. You'll also find a Communicators' Blog that provides a place to offer advice, ask questions, or just sound off on topics of interest to all of us. Periodically, we'll host a Communicators' Forum, where a single topic will be the subject of discussion at a specific time so we'll all be able to both question and respond in real time.
You don't have to be a member to participate, but you do need to register. Won't you take a few moments to look around and sign in? Our hope is that you'll like it enough to join and really cash in on statewide networking, awards programs, and professional accreditation. Will you be ready when the call comes to take it to the next level? TPRA's Communicators' Connexion can help.
Welcome and enjoy,
Graham Painter, APR
President, TPRA
